These paper luminaries started as a job for our December “Solstice” guide. I was so motivated by how they turned out that I requested a star hole punch and just stored making extra!

The strategy started out as a basic slicing and gap punching station for small children utilizing construction paper. In our December tutorial, we also advise using small battery operated tea lights at home or in the classroom to set a more tranquil, peaceful mood. Placing the two together… and you have these surprisingly charming luminaries!

Provides for Paper Luminaries:
~ Building paper and/or brown paper bags
~ Straight scissors and decorative edge scissors
~ Modest hole punches (I utilized 1/8″ and 1/16″)

~ Battery operated LED tea lights with remote

How to make Paper Luminaries:
