The Trawick Prize: Bethesda Present-day Art Awards, a juried artwork competitors created by the Bethesda Arts & Entertainment District, introduced the 2022 prize winners through very last night’s awards reception.

WonJung Choi of Richmond, VA was awarded the prestigious “Best in Show” title and been given the $10,000 major prize. Caryn Martin from Baltimore, MD was named next position and given $2,000 Robert Martin from Staunton, VA was bestowed third position and gained $1,000 and Evie Metz from Henrico, VA was awarded the Youthful Artist Award and received $1,000.

WonJung Choi, was born and raised in Seoul, Korea. Her collection of sculptures, paintings, drawings, and installation explores the electrical power of her just about every shifting id in the generating. Launched by Carol Trawick in 2003, the regional competition is a single of the most significant prizes to on a yearly basis honor visible artists. Ms. Trawick, a longtime group activist in downtown Bethesda, also founded the Bethesda Portray Awards in 2005. She has served as the Chair of the Bethesda Arts & Enjoyment District, Bethesda City Partnership, Strathmore and the Maryland State Arts Council. She started the Jim and Carol Trawick Basis in 2007 to assist health and human providers and arts non-income in Montgomery County, MD.
